A North Country Treasure

The house and barn overlooking Tanner Creek were originally erected in the 1880’s. The property rests near the former site of Stella Mines, which was once one of the largest pyrite mines in the United States. The creek name is derived from the history of tanning cowhide near the waterfront.

The property served for decades as a dairy farm until 1991 when it was purchased by current owners, Thomas and Pamela Jasikoff. Tom and Pam raised their family of five children and used the 35-acre property as a hobby farm. A wildlife biologist, Tom worked the land and transformed the once bare hay pastures into mowed trails that meander through tranquil ponds and wetlands.

Once Tom retired in 2018, he continued to reconstruct the property into the stunning nature sanctuary it is today. Although the property was used for multiple weddings throughout it’s history, they opened the barn for the first wedding in the summer of 2018, beginning with the marriage of their daughter. Tom and Pam also made structural updates, including the back addition to the farm house, and extensive work on the barn.
